The anticipated Google event later this year to announce the new Pixel 3 lineup is shaping up to be far reaching like last year.  Rumors and leaks suggest that in addition to a new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, we will likely see a Pixel branded smartwatch and updated Google Pixelbuds.  Now we can add an updated Google Pixelbook 2 to the mix.

Evan Blass, one of the most reliable sources for leaks and information, Tweeted over the weekend that an updated version of Google’s flagship Chromebook could be coming at the event, which is believe to happen around the October time frame.

Add to this fall hardware lineup a second-generation Pixelbook, with smaller bezels, scheduled to ship before the end of the year.

Truthfully this isn’t too surprising given that the Mountain View company appears going with a yearly cadence on all of their hardware updates now.

A new commit found in the Chromium Gerrit suggests that Quick Reply support could be coming to Chrome for Android by the time we get to Chrome 70 or 71 later this year.  The feature would allow for users to reply to notifications directly from within Chrome that sites pop up to users on a site.

Quick Replies themselves are not new and are supported through Android and apps that developers have enabled to support.  This would bring the same functionality to Chrome and would have the same benefit of being able to reply to a notification without having to leave the browser.

While it doesn’t get updated as often as the Office 365 suite of apps, Microsoft SwiftKey does see an update every couple of months on average and they tend to be sizable updates.  The update that the Redmond company released today for their Android keyboard app is no exception.  It brings a significant number of improvements with a heavy emphasis on improvements around Arabic.

The update is version is 7.0.9.28 for those keeping score at home.  It is in the Play Store now and if you have the keyboard installed, you likely have the update waiting or it has been installed if you have Automatic Updates enabled.

With the OnePlus 3 being two years old and the updated OnePlus 3T being nearly that old, you don’t see many updates for these former flagship devices any longer and that is par for the course for most manufactures these days.  So when an update for an older phone is released, especially one that contains security updates, it gets noticed – or at least it should.

OnePlus has released an update to OxygenOS, their Android variant, for the OP 3 and 3T that brings a handful of fixes as well as the July Android Security Update to these phones.  The updated build is OxygenOS 5.0.4 for those keeping score at home and OnePlus is phasing the roll out to devices.  That means it could be several more days before all owners see it land on their phone.
