YouTube Incognito Mode Rolls Out to Everyone

After being in a limited test mode for the past several weeks, the new YouTube incognito mode is now rolling out to everyone.  The feature allows you to eliminate the virtual footprints you leave while watching content on the streaming service.  For Android users, you need to make sure you have the latest version of the app, build 13.25.56.

The new feature significantly cuts down on the amount of traceable information left when you view YouTube.  All of your activity will not be tracked by the app so you won’t see similar content pop up later when you return to the app.  Don’t want anyone to know about your cat video watching habits?  Incognito mode is your answer.

Google Calendar Now Suggests Rooms for Meetings in G Suite

Google G Suite customers are going to soon be able to benefit for a handy feature in Google Calendar.  Automatic Room Suggestions, based on your location, is coming to the web version of the app, allowing you to quickly see meeting rooms that are available based on where you are at the time.

The feature goes hand-in-hand with a release that happened earlier this year which would allow for rooms to be found based on where a guest was located.  Now, once admins have established the work location of an employee, they can see what rooms are available to them when they are setting up a meeting.

Ticwatch Pro Released Sporting 5 Days of Battery Life

After a few months of rumors, the Ticwatch Pro is finally official.  Price at $249 and available in both Silver & Black, the Pro sports a massive battery life of a minimum of 5 days on a single charge and can go up to 30 days in what the company is calling an “essential” mode.  Powered by Wear OS by Google, it has a AMOLED display with a secondary FSTN LCD display that is the key to the essential mode of the watch.

The new Ticwatch Pro is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC, comes with 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.  The AMOLED display is 1.39″ on the 45 mm stainless steelcase.  It has a 415mAh battery, Bluetooth, WiFi and, thankfully, NFC.  The popular Ticwatch S and E models from last year didn’t have NFC so this is certainly a step in the right direction.  Finally, it is IP68 rated for water and dust intrusion.

Spotify Update Allows for Playlist Reordering – Finally

It has take a long while but Spotify has finally added the ability to edit your playlists.  The streaming music service has long had the ability to create playlist but to this point, they better be in the exact order you want the songs.  There was no way to edit the lists after the fact.  That, thankfully, has now changed.

So long as you have the latest version of the app, which is 8.4.61.683 for Android, you can go into a playlist that you have created and you will now see an edit option for that playlist.

Netflix adds a Smart Downloads Feature to Auto-Delete Watched Content

The Netflix app for Android has a great new feature that is rolling out today:  Smart Downloads.  The feature, which is enabled by default, will delete an episode that you have downloaded and completed watching and will replace it with the next episode in the series that you have not watched.  It means that you will automatically get the next episode in the series without having to manually go download it yourself.

Here is the scenario:  Let’s say you watching Season 1 of The Crown and have downloaded the first four episodes in the series.  When you complete episode one, it is deleted and episode five of the series is downloaded automatically to your phone.  It means that you will always have four episodes downloaded and ready to watch.

Google Pay App Update to Bring Ability to Send Funds

Google has announced this morning an update to the Google Pay app for Android devices.  Critically, this update will bring the ability to send or receive funds from friends & family within the app, effectively killing the Google Pay Send app.

If you recall, when Android Pay was rebranded Google Pay back in February, the ability to send and receive money was moved to a separate app with the Mountain View company indicating that this was a temporary thing.  The plan all along was to have Google Pay as your single payment app and that appears to be rolling out now.

Dish Network Finally Rolling Out Google Assistant to Control DVRs

Way back in January of this year, Dish Network announce that Google Assistant would be coming to a range of DVRs for the satellite television provider.  At the time, they had indicated that the feature would roll out in the first half of the year to Hopper DVR (all generations), Joey client (all models), and the Wally single-tuner HD receiver.

Well, they missed it by a little bit but the feature has finally begun rolling out.  Today Google Assistant began arriving on both Hopper and Joey clients, allowing customers to use “Hey Google” to do things like change television stations and search for specific shows… but there is a catch.
