After a long run as the flagship tablet for Google, the Nexus 9 era has come to an end as far as the Mountain View company is concerned. An update today to the Google Store has removed all references to the Nexus 9 and you can no longer order it directly from them. That doesn’t mean however that you still can’t get your hands on one through Amazon. The 9 debuted with Android Lollipop in 2014 and even though it will be upgraded to Android N, Google has shifted their tablet focus for now to the new flagship, the Pixel C.

Marshmallow update helped tremendously and there have been other minor updates that have improved the battery life and overall performance of the tablet. I reviewed the tablet earlier this month along with the Folio Keyboard for it and despite its age, it is a great value for what it offers.
If you still want to get a Nexus 9, you are certainly still able to do so through a variety of retailers including Amazon. There you will find the 32GB version of the tablet in white for $354.50
The removal of the Nexus 9 does add fuel to the speculation that a new tablet will be coming next month at Google I/O. Most rumors are pointing to a replacement for the Nexus 7 2013 tablet but it could also mean another 8″ or 9″ tablet is in the works. We will find out in less than a month.
