After what could only be described as a snail’s pace for the release of Android Marshmallow by manufactures and carriers, the last few weeks have been more of a frantic pace. Last Friday I posted that the Galaxy Note 5 on Verizon was seeing the latest version of Android start to roll and today the carrier along with competitor T-Mobile have begun the release of Marshmallow the HTC One M8.
The news of the update broke from HTC’s Mo Versi on Twitter on Friday that the One M8 would start seeing the update push today. I’ll remind everyone that it could be several days or even a week or two before you see the update hit your device. The carriers phase these releases into their network so don’t get to upset if you don’t see it today.
Besides, you’ve waited this long right? What’s another few days? 🙂
Joking aside, the update will come to your phone via an OTA update and it will require a few restarts of your phone during the upgrade process to complete. Also, you will only be able to download the update when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi given its size.
There is no official word from either carrier on any additional apps or features they have baked into the build for their networks other than what is coming in Marshmallow itself.
