Although it is only hitting Asia and Europe at the moment, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is starting to see the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update roll out globally. The update will bring the latest security updates to the phablet along with several other UI tweaks that are exclusive to Samsung. While the South Korean company has made no official announcements – and they rarely do – it is expect that this update will roll out globally over the course of the next few days.
This update has been making a bit of news lately for a couple of different features that are included in the build. First is the new version 4.0 web browser included in the build which brings ad-blocking technology to the device. This has been an area of contention (in fact the stand alone version of this ad-blocking software that uses the Samsung API was removed from the Google Play Store briefly last week.) It also will including the new Samsung Cross app which will give users the ability to have split screen chat sessions.

All of these features that Samsung has built into the release for the Galaxy Note 5 come on top of the Marshmallow goodness like Doze and and Google Now on Tap. Here is where you can find my review of Marshmallow and my thoughts on Doze, the killer feature of the release in my opinion.
As with all devices, this update to Marshmallow for the Note 5 is rolling out in phases. It may be several days or even a week or so before you see the update hit your device. You can of course always try to Settings>About Phone and check for the update but that doesn’t always force the update to happen.
