Starbucks has dropped an update to their official app in the Google Play Store that rolls out nationally the Order & Pay functionality. The update is build 3.2 for those keeping score at home and you can now order your favorite Starbucks drink or food item, order and pay for it on your Android phone, then simply go to the store and pick up your order. No more waiting in queues!
The update is available now in the Google Play Store and expands the Order & Pay function as part of the rollout the company announced today. While it is only available in the United States currently, it is expected that support for the feature will roll to the United Kingdom and Canada in October. It should also be noted that the feature only works with Starbucks company stores, not those run by franchises.

In the updated Starbucks app you will see the Order option now off of the menu. From there you can quickly add featured items such as a sandwich, muffin or a latte while you can also go into any
drink item and customize it to your liking. Need that 4th shot of espresso in your Venti latte? You can do it in the app, pay for it with your Starbucks card in the app and then go pick it up.
By default the app will select the closest Starbucks location to you but you can tap the location and use the built-in map function to find the store you want to use. When you have placed your order, you will be given an estimated time for pickup so you can plan your journey to the store. Once there, simply go up to the bar where your drink and food orders will be waiting for you.
When you are in the Starbucks app and looking to place an order, nutrition information is provided for you so you can make appropriate decisions. Even if you customize a drink or food item the nutrition information is updated so you know exactly how many calories you are consuming along with other things like sugars, protein and fat grams.
To use the Order & Pay function, you will need to have a registered Starbucks card in the app.
