With Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicking off next week, many new Windows Phone, Tablets and PCs are starting to be announced. UK budget manufacture Kazam is bringing no less than 5 new Windows powered devices to the event in Barcelona next week as they enter into the non-Android world for the first time. The company has announced two new Windows Phone 8.1 devices and 3 new Windows 8.1 tablets ranging from 7 to 10 inches in screen size.
On the Windows Phone front, Kazam has announced the Thunder 450W and Thunder 450WL. Each device has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage which is
expandable up to an additional 32GB with a MicroSD card. The 450W and 450WL both sport a 5″ display, 2MP front facing camera and 8MP autofocus rear camera. Indeed the basic difference between these two devices is LTE support on the 450WL while the 450W brings you Dual-SIM support. You have to decide which one is more important to you on a day-to-day basis.
On the tablet front, Kazam is introducing a 7″, 8″ and 10″ Windows 8.1 tablet, all three powered by an Intel quad-core processor and all three have a screen resolution of 1280×800. The 10″ model, the L10, will come with 32GB of onboard storage with 2GB of RAM. The L7 and L8 models (7″ and 8″ screen size) will come with 16GB of onboard storage and 1GB of RAM. All three of the devices have 2MP cameras on the front and back, MicroUSB, MicroHDMI and MicroSD expansion for up to an additional 32GB of storage.
As for the price points of these devices, that has to be announced but likely will know by the time we get through MWC. If the Android lineup of Kazam is any indication, you can probably expect a sub-$200 price on the Windows Phones while somewhere between $199-$299 on the tablets. That’s my guess but nothing official from Kazam. Equally, it is unclear if these devices will ever make it to the United states.
