The new Moto G6 Play, one of the newest phones in Amazon’s Play lineup, is now available and already discounted. Normally the 5.7″ phone is $199 but right now Amazon has it down to $189. Hey, ten bucks is ten bucks, right?
The G6 Play is the entry level of the G6 lineup and is powered by the Snapdragon 430 SoC, has 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB of storage. That storage can be expanded up to an additional 256GB thanks to the MicroSD slot built into the phone. All-in-all, not bad for a sub-$200 phone.
Display wise, you have a 5.7″ display that has a 18:9 aspect ration and redners at 1440 x 720. This is coupled with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera and all of it is powered by a 4000mAh battery that will easily get the majority of readers out there through a full day of use.
As for Android on the Moto G6 Play, that is Android Oreo 8.0 so you are reasonably up-to-date from that perspective out of the box.
A couple of things to keep in mind if you are considering picking up the G6 Play. First, it is unlocked and works with all of the four major carriers here in the United States – AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. This is great news, especially for those on Sprint and Verizon. Second, this is the Play edition of the phone from Amazon meaning that it will come with a slew of Amazon centric apps pre-installed. You can, of course uninstall them if you want. Remember that Amazon no longer puts adverts on the lock screen as part of their Play program.
