Today’s Deal is on one of my personal favorite phones from the past few years, the Sony Xperia X Compact. Right now you can pick up this 4.6″ phone for just $289, by far the lowest price ever for this 2016 phone. Why would you want to pick up a phone from 2016? Well, in this case, Sony has already updated the X Compact to Android Oreo which makes it a compelling phone, especially at this price point.
I reviewed the Xperia X Compact in November of 2016 for those that want to read my comments about the phone. It’s compact size is great but the overall performance and camera quality is excellent.
The Sony Xperia X Compact is powered by the Snapdragon 650 and has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage onboard. That storage can be expanded up to an additional 256GB thanks to the MicroSD slot. The phone has a 4.6″ IPS LCD display that renders at 720 x 1280.
The Xperia X Compact unlocked which means that a wide range of supported 3G and LTE bands is a must. Sony has covered that with this phone as it has the bands to work with any GSM carrier here in the United States. Here are the supported frequencies on this unlocked phone.
- HSDPA 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
- LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 17(700), 19(800), 20(800), 26(850), 28(700), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)
Finally, from a camera perspective, you are getting a main camera that is a 23MP f/2.0 24mm shooter with phase detection auto focus and a LED flash. The front facing selfie camera is 5MP at it too is able to shoot 1080p video.
