Good news this morning for those of you who have a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus on the AT&T network. A new update is rolling out for both devices that brings Google’s Daydream VR support to both phones.
The update for the Galaxy S8 is G950USQU1AQGL while for the S8 Plus, you will get update G955USQU1AQGL. These updates not only bring support for the Virtual Reality solution from Google, but also brings the August Android Security update along with several other bug fixes and patches.
The update makes AT&T one of the last to bring Daydream support to the S8 lineup, following the release by T-Mobile and Verizon. AT&T tends to be one of the last ones to issues these types of updates and their release comes weeks after other carriers had provided the update to their customers.
With support for Daydream, users of the Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus can use the Google VR headset like those who have the Huawei Mate 9 and the Google Pixel lineup of phones.
As usual, these updates are coming via an OTA update so if you have one of the phones, go to Settings and check for an update. It’s rather small and shouldn’t take but about 10-15 minutes to download, install and reboot to take effect.
