After several months of testing on their alpha and beta builds, Twitter has released a Night Mode feature for their production version of their Android app. The updated build is version 6.7.0 for those keeping score at home and will now allow for the darker viewing mode to make things a bit easier on your eyes in a low light situation. The nice thing is you can toggle it on or off pretty easily.
If you have the latest build of Twitter for Android, swipe from the left side of your screen to access the
menu or tap on your avatar at the top of the screen. Towards the bottom you will now see a Night mode toggle switch to enable or disable the feature. When you enable the feature, it will stay in Night mode until you turn it off so it is not automatic.
If you don’t see the feature on the menu in the Twitter app on your phone, it is because you haven’t received the latest update via an OTA. That should be happening this week for everyone so give it a day or two.
If you do have the new feature, what do you think? Do you like it or do you plan to use it much? Leave a comment and let me know.
