Well that didn’t take long! HTC has just tweeted that three of their devices will be seeing the Android Nougat release. For those of you who have an HTC 10, HTC One A9 or HTC One M9, it is a pretty darn spiffy day.
So sweet. Android Nougat—the next version of Google’s Android—will be coming to the HTC 10, HTC One A9 & HTC One M9. pic.twitter.com/cB5S2zv0PW

This is great news for sure and while the HTC 10 was almost a lock to get Nougat, seeing on the One A9 and One M9 is great to see too.
While the tweet from HTC did not give any indication on the timeline of when Nougat will hit these devices, given their track record, it probably won’t be much longer after the official release from
Google. HTC has done a superb job of keeping these three devices up-to-date with security and other updates with Android Marshmallow and there is no reason to think they won’t do the same with Nougat.
To be clear, HTC is referring to the unlocked versions of each of these phones for the upgrades. While those that are carrier locked will likely see the upgrade as well, it could be a considerable amount of time after the official release before they see it. The carriers, as always, will want to approve and tweak updates.
Have I told you lately to buy unlocked? 🙂
