After months of delays, the Android Marshmallow update for the HTC One M8 and One M9 is finally coming to those on AT&T. HTC’s Mo Versi tweeted yesterday that the software update had finally been approved and would start hitting devices tomorrow, May 12th.
HTC One (M8 & M9) AT&T owners! Thank you for your patience. Marshmallow OS is approved, OTA to start tomorrow!!

While it is not expect that every M8 or M9 will see the update tomorrow, it should come to you as an OTA update over the course of the next week or so. Once you have it, all of the goodness that is Android Marshmallow will be there for you.
As most readers will know, Marshmallow for the One M8 and One M9 has been out on other carriers for quite some time but for whatever reason, the approval process between AT&T and HTC
took forever. There is no indication from either company as to why it took so long but given that AT&T doesn’t have exactly the best track record on device updates in a timely manner…. I’ll let you decide.
There is no indication from Versi on the size of the update but you can expect somewhere between 800MB and 1GB more-than-likely. You will definitely have to download it over Wi-Fi and when you do perform the update, expect about a 20 minute process and a reboot or two.
If you do have an M8 or M9 on AT&T, let me know when you get the update by leaving a comment.
