Google Photos Now Allows Location Editing on Site

Google Photos has rolled out a new feature on this service’s site that allows you to edit the location information of your photos.  The feature, right now at least, is only on the Photos website, photos.google.com.

Functionally, the new feature works as you would expect.  When you open up a photo on the Photos site from your library, you can tap the information icon and see details about the photo.  Next to the location, you’ll now see an edit icon (a pencil) that you can click to edit the location information of the photo.

Google Assistant Update Brings Support for Three Spanish Dialects

A small, quiet update has rolled out to Google Assistant that allows you to set your default language in three Spanish dialects.  The update, which is a cloud-side update, allows for users to set España, México, and EE.UU as their default language.

The addition of these different dialects almost assuredly means that expansion of Google Home into Mexico and Spain is just around the corner as that has been Google’s pattern in previous Google Home and Google Assistant expansions this year.

Microsoft Edge for Android Update Brings Family Account Support

The latest update to Microsoft Edge for Android is now rolling out to the Google Play Store with a slew of new features and updates.  The new build is version 42.0.0.2033 for those keeping score at home and brings support for Microsoft Family accounts as well as the ability to read Books purchased from the Microsoft Store.

The update to Edge also brings support for signing into the browser with your work and school account.  While this doesn’t do a lot for you right now, Microsoft plans to roll out Favorites and password sync across devices leveraging the signed in account.  There is no word yet on when that will be released.

AT&T Now Rolling Out The Oreo for The Samsung Galaxy S7 Lineup

Let’s see if this one sticks, shall we?  Last week, Verizon began rolling out the Android Oreo update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on their network.  Then they pulled it.  Then they released it again.  Then they pulled it again, apparently for good for the moment.  That cause a lot of confusion and got me a nice “FAKE NEWS” comment on the article.

Sigh.

Okay, so now A&T seems to be giving it a go and has released the update for the S7 lineup on their network.  Multiple sources are pointing to screenshots of the update rolling out which comes in at about 1.7GB.  But, to this point, AT&T has not updated the support pages for either device.

Entry Level Nokia 3.1 Available on Amazon – But Out of Stock

First, the good news.  The entry level Nokia 3.1, as promised by Nokia when it was announced last month, is available in the United States.  It sells for $159 and is available from Amazon.  Now the bad news:  It’s sold out.

Obviously the fact that the phone has sold out is great news for Nokia but for those who were wanting to get their hands on the budget friendly 5.2″ phone powered by Android One, you are going to have to wait a while.
