While this years Christmas season sales focus from Microsoft has been on the mid-to-low end of the market, that doesn’t mean that some great deals can’t be found on the high end devices as well.  The best deal by far remains on the Lumia 635 at only $99 without a contract but if you want to get the flagship Lumia 1520, you can do it for $99 as well on a 2-year contract.  If you don’t want to do the contract, no problem.  You can get it outright for $526, down from the $589 price before the holidays.

The 6TAG Instagram app for Windows Phone has received a minor update today, bringing support for the new BLU Win phone devices.  The update is free and available now in the Windows Phone store.  If you aren’t familiar with 6TAG, it is a great Instagram app and far superior in my opinion than the Instagram Beta app (which as far as I know has NEVER been updated).

Today is day 7 of the Microsoft store 12 Days of Deals and it another great one. Today you can get the Lumia 635 Windows Phone for only $99, unlocked. Normally it is $179 so this is a huge discount. If you want to buy it online, you still get a great deal as it is only $129.

The  635 is a great, budget friendly Windows Phone and one I have no reservations in recommending for those looking for a good all around devices.  Here is my review of the Lumia 635.

The OneDrive for Windows Phone app has just had a big update drop in the Windows Phone Store that brings significant changes to the user experience along with several other key updates.  The new version 4.5 build is out now and you can get it free in the Store.

WeatherSphere has released their NOAA Hi-Def Radar app for Windows Phone, bringing the impressive weather app to the platform following iOS and Android.  The app provides a wealth of weather and radar information to users, particularly those in the United States.  Further, it provides some unique features to other weather apps in the Windows Phone store that make this app immediately stand above many others available.

Foursquare has released an update to their Swarm for Windows Phone app with a wide range of updates and improvements to the app.  The headline improvement is that Swarm now has a Emoji keyboard which can be used for shouts, plans and check-in along with plan comments. The update is listed as version 1.3 and is available now in the Windows Phone store.

If by chance you are not familiar with Swarm, this is the new check-in app from Foursquare that was released back in the early summer.  Foursquare the app has turned into more of a location discovery app (which is quite good by-the-way) while Swarm has taken over as the check-in app.
