Good news for those of you who have an unlocked HTC 10 here in North America. A new software update is rolling out to you that brings several fixes and improvements along with the June Android Security Update. The new build, version 1.80.617.1 for those keeping score at home, is rolling out now and should be hitting all devices over the course of the next few days. The update is actually pretty big all-said at just over 300MB and as most users will know, after you download it and install it, your phone will be restarted.
As far as changes go, the big news in this update is the addition of the June security update for Marshmallow. Given that the security update was released just a week ago, HTC has once again done
a good job of getting the patch out early to its flagship phone. HTC also indicates that the update contains some performance improvements and bug fixes but what specifically is addressed is not disclosed.
If you have a HTC 10, you can expect the update to come to your phone over the course of the next few days. You can, as always, force the issue by going to Settings>About Phone>System Update and check for the update manually.
