After teasing the update last month, Nextbit has released the big update to the Nextbit Robin that brings a slew of improvements and updates. The update is rolling out now as an OTA update and should hit all devices out there over the course of the next few days. The banner part of the update is, of course, Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and the update includes the April security update as well so you are getting the latest-and-greatest version of Android on the device.
In addition to 6.0.1, the update to the Robin also includes some addition processor tuning to improve battery life and performance as well as a completely overhauled camera app. This new

camera app is much faster and will produce better photos from the phone. There is also an all new sound tuning driver that gives the device a much improved sound quality from the speakers and from headphones.
The update to the sound quality opened the gateway for a collaboration project with AIAIAI for a custom TMA-2 headphone designed to with the Robin.

Overall the Nextbit Robin has been well received and its unique cloud-based app storage has received high praise. For those who aren’t familiar with it, apps that you haven’t used in a while are removed from the device and stored in your cloud storage that comes with the device. When you need to use that app again, tap the greyed out icon and it will be immediately reinstalled along with all of your app data.
