It has been a busy week for T-Mobile and it is only Tuesday! Today the US-based carrier started the roll out of the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for customers who have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ on their network. The update, build G928TUVU2DPD1 for those keeping score at home, is a typical hefty update at 1.3GB. You will have to be on Wi-Fi in order to download it to your S6 Edge+ and as is always the case, the update requires a restart of your phone and should take between 10-20 minutes to complete.
By this point I’m sure most readers will know all of the benefits of Android Marshmallow but if you need to refresh yourself, check out my review.
The big pluses for this update from T-Mobile is that the update is based on Android 6.0.1 and it has the April Security Update. That means you have the freshest version of Android which is never a bad thing.
T-Mobile has been pretty responsive when it comes to getting Marshmallow out on their devices. Just yesterday the released the update for the Note 5, joining several other devices that are already running the latest version of Android.
For those of you who have the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on T-Mobile, let me know how the update goes and if you ran into any issues.
