OnePlus One owners, Lollipop 5.1.1 is finally rolling out. The Cyanogen 12.1 update, which is based on Lollipop 5.1.1 is starting to roll out via an over-the-air update. The update is a rolling update so it may not be there for your phone just yet (I know my OnePlus One hasn’t seen it yet) so be patient. It will be coming to you over the course of the next few days.
There are a lot of improvements, fixes and changes in Lollipop 5.1.1 that OnePlus One owners will benefit from and of course this will put you on the latest update of Lollipop which isn’t such a bad thing.
The best way to characterize Lollipop 5.1.1 is it is a bug fix release. While Lollipop 5.1 was a big step forward over 5.0 in resolving issues, 5.1.1 is incremental to the 5.1 release. Don’t look for massive changes in overall functionality although you should see a bit more smoothing of the UI, some improvements all around. Specifically for this update to the Cyanogen 12.1 release, there are new icons for the My Files, Camera and a few other apps and for some odd reason the default search engine is now Bing. You can change that of course but it is a bit of a head scratcher as to

why this was changed.
OnePlus One owners should also see much improved touch responsiveness in this update, the new Boxer calendar app as the default calendar app (along with Boxer for the default email app- but that’s been there a while) and a few other cosmetic things.
If you aren’t seeing the update, be patient. This is a rolling update and will take a few hours to a few days to hit everyone.
