OneDrive for Windows Phone has received a small but important update today that allows you to more easily share work files with colleagues from the app. The update, version 4.8.0.0 for those keeping score at home, only lists this addition as the changes in this version versus the previous build which brought several improvements including PIN locking. In order to use this new feature you must be using an OneDrive for Business account through your organization.

This new change in OneDrive for Windows Phone gives those who have OneDrive for Business accounts the ability to share a file for viewing or editing with a colleague. It effectively makes OneDrive a poor man’s change control and document checkout app as well as a collaboration app. It is just one more improvement in the app as Microsoft continues to position OneDrive as your one-stop storage place for everything –
personal or business.
It’s been a busy couple of days for OneDrive. Along with this enhancement to OneDrive for Windows Phone, the overall service gained the ability to stream music from your OneDrive account to your Windows powered devices yesterday.
