At the beginning of February, Microsoft made a great offer to Bing Rewards members here in the United States by giving them 100GB of OneDrive storage for the next two years with a simple mouse click. Now they have extended that offer globally so everyone can take part. For those who aren’t familiar with Bing Rewards, it is a point-based system of rewards that you get for using Bing for searches on your PC or mobile device. On your mobile that can be through Cortana on Windows Phone or the Bing apps on iOS and Android. It’s free to join and with the 100GB of storage on OneDrive, its a double incentive to join. There is no cost associated with it.
First, to join Bing Rewards, visit this link.
Second, to get a OneDrive account, visit this link. A free account gets you 15GB of storage (Unlimited if you also have an Office 365 account) so you see the value. Straight away you will have 115GB
of cloud storage you can access from your Windows PC, Tablet, Phone as well as your iOS, Android and Mac devices. Plus, you will get another 15GB of storage if you automatically upload photos from your smartphone’s camera to OneDrive. That means that with very little effort you could have 130GB of cloud storage on OneDrive and not spend a cent. It’s a pretty good deal when you stack it up against competing cloud storage solutions.
All indications are that you will still need to join up before the end of February to get the deal so you have a few days left to get it done.
In case you didn’t know, there is a Bing Rewards app for Windows Phone that is also free in the Windows Phone Store. The app allows you to keep track of your reward points and spend them directly from within the app, bypassing the need to go to the Bing Rewards website. The app supports Live Tiles as well so you can see at-a-glance your points status.
