The music streaming service Spotify has a whole new look and feel this morning for Windows Phone users. Spotify for Windows Phone has been updated to version 5.0 and it brings with it a virtually brand new look and feel to the app. The new looks leans heavily on transparency throughout the app, something that you usually find in iOS apps but no Windows Phone. Spotify for Windows Phone – Free – Download Now The notes on the Spotify for Windows Phone page in the Store say that the new look is “bold and beautiful” and to a large extent they are right. If you have used iOS apps in iOS 8, this is going to
look really familiar to you. There is a lot of transparency going on in the app now which you either really are going to like… or not so much. Personally, I’m not a big fan as I like the more traditional Windows Phone look but there you go. As for other new features, you now can save, organize and browse your music collection from within the Spotify for Windows Phone app so you don’t have to navigate to the Xbox Music app to do so. It’s a nice option if Spotify is your main music app as you won’t have to switch back and forth between apps. Finally, there is also an updated browse feature that will bring you more localized and relevant content than in the previous version of the app. Overall, the new Spotify for Windows Phone is nice and certainly brings some great new features in addition to the new look. Spotify and the Windows Phone app are both free and the free level of the service is ad supported. The premium service is $9.99 per month and gives you the ability to list to your Spotify music offline and allows you to eliminate the ads.
