Second Chrome 65 Build Arrives for The Chrome OS Stable Channel

A busy day on the Chrome OS front.  The Chrome OS Dev Channel was updated to a sixth Chrome 66 build and now the Chrome OS Stable Channel has seen its second Chrome 65 build.  The new build is 65.0.3325.184 (Platform version: 10323.62.0/1) for those keeping score at home.  Perhaps more important to everyone is that this build is coming to Chromebooks that can run Android apps.

Having checked for this update this morning on my Pixelbook, which you can do by typing chrome://help in the browser bar, the update is already out there and has been applied.

As a reminder, this build has a laundry list of new features and enhancements that come with it.  Some of the features are aimed at business while others are for everyone.  For example, local files now show up in the Launcher search results, short video recordings are now support as your profile picture, MIDI API support for Android apps running on Chrome OS, and expanded unzipping support within the Files app for files hosted on Google Drive.

This should be the build in the Stable Channel going forward until Chrome 66 rolls out next month.  If you aren’t seeing it just yet, give it time.  It should be available to everyone by the end of the day.
