After several months of beta testing, OnePlus has released the new OxygenOS 5.0.2 build for the OnePlus 5T, bringing Android Oreo to the flagship phone. The update is a comprehensive one, bringing a new launcher and several other improved apps along with it.
The update is big at over 1GB in size so you will want to make sure you download it via WiFi. The update also contains the January Android Security Update patch so your OnePlus 5T will be protected against the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities.
Along with Android Oreo and the general performance improvements baked into this update to OxygenOS, this update also has a few other new apps:
- Updated Launcher to v2.2
- Updated Gallery to v2.0
- Updated Weather to v1.9
- Updated File Manager to v1.7.6
With this update to the 5T, OnePlus how has their last two flagships upgraded to Oreo. The update to the 5 was a bit rough, having been pulled just a day after it was released for a bug. Hopefully this rollout for the 5T will go smoother.
As is OnePlus’ normal process, the OxygenOS 5.0.2 update for the 5T is rolling out to a small group today and will slowly expand out over the course of the next few days to everyone – assuming no show stopping bugs are found.
