The PayPal app for Android has been updated with several new features for users. One of the key new features is the ability to donate to hundreds of charities across the United States right from within the app. On the home page of the app you will now see a new Donate section. Tap this and you will see a searchable list of charities and organizations you can support through the app. Find the one you want to support then tap the donate button to send funds to that organization. It is quick and easy and allows you to get funds to the organizations you want to support quickly. One note is that, for now, this feature only works in the United States.
In addition to this new donate feature, you can now link your bank account to the PayPal app and send friends or family funds from that account. You’ve been able to send others funds via a credit
card, debt card or funds you have linked or in your account. By adding your bank account, you can bypass the card altogether and send funds directly to their account. There are no fees for this within the United States which is an added benefit.
Finally, a long requested feature of the app – the ability to remove cards from your account. To this point, if you wanted to remove a credit card, you had to go to the PayPal website to do it. The app wouldn’t let you make that happen. That changes in this update thankfully. Now you can quickly and easily remove a card from within the app.
The PayPal app is free if you don’t have it on your phone. For those that do, this updated version should be coming to you via an OTA update over the course of the next day or so.
