Today over at Amazon you can pick up another great deal, this time on the Dell Venue 8 Android tablet. This 8.4″ tablet has been around for a while now and the review on it have been glowing with the exception of the pricing. Originally the 32GB model was $449 but now is down to $249 at the online retailer. At that price, it is certainly hard to beat.
If you aren’t familiar with the Venue 8, here are some of the highlights of this Android tablet
- 8.4″ IPS QuadHD Display rendering at 1600 x 2560
- Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor running at 2.3GHz
- 2GB of RAM
- 8MP rear camera / 2MP front camera
- 32GB of Storage / Expandable with a MicroSD card (up to 512MB)
- 5900 mAh battery
Originally the Venue 8 7000 came with Android KitKat installed but it has been upgraded to Lollipop at this point. When you get the tablet it will be one of the first things you are prompted to do. There is no word if Dell plans to offer a Marshmallow upgrade on this tablet but given that it is only a year old, hopefully they will do so.
What really makes the Venue 8 stand out is the display. at 1600 x 2560 and ~359 PPI, it is very crisp, especially for a tablet this size. It makes looking at photos or reading much easier on the eyes for long periods of time.
The sale over at Amazon is until units are depleted so if you want to get one, this morning would be the time to make it happen.
