Earlier today Motorola made several new device announcements, chief among them is the new Moto G 2015 model. The mid-range phone has reasonable specs for a phone that starts at only $179 and it can be completely customized using the Motorola Moto Maker service on their website. The Moto G 2015 is the latest update in a successful series of devices for Motorola and this new Moto G comes with some nice updates.
Perhaps the biggest news in the announcement of the Moto G 2015 is the waterproof build and the improved cameras over the 2014 model. First, the new Moto G is now IPX7 water resistant certified meaning that you could fully submerge the device in up to 1M of water, about 3′. While I certainly wouldn’t recommend this, the point is the phone can take a slash or two and not have any adverse effects.
Secondly, the new Moto G 2015 has had its front and rear cameras improved. The rear camera is now a 13MP f/2.0 with the ability to shoot 1080p video. The front camera is now up to 5MP.
