Earlier this week I posted that Nexus 9 owners were teased with an update to Lollipop 5.0.2 and how it was a bit silly that other Nexus devices were seeing the 5.1.1 update like the older Nexus 7. Well it seems that Google has been on the ball behind the scenes – or has been shamed at least – getting the 5.1 update ready. It is dropping today and you should see the update on your device via an over-the-air update.
The 5.1 update appears to have been released by Google for the Nexus 9 at the time I’m posting this but as I don’t have one of these devices, I cannot confirm it is actually rolling out. If you have a Nexus 9, I’d love to hear if you got the update. Leave a comment here or on Google+.
If you aren’t up to speed on what is in Lollipop 5.1, here is a brief rundown from the team over at AndroidPit. It’s a pretty concise rundown of what you will see in the update.
The update should make Nexus 9 owners a bit happier than the tease of 5.0.2 on Monday. Many owners have complained about the pace of releases for the flagship tablet from Google and it appears that someone is listening.
Now about that 5.2 update? 🙂
