The OneDrive team has had a busy day today. Earlier this morning they released an update to OneDrive for Android with several new features and fixes and tonight we see a new OneDrive for Windows Phone version now available. The update, version 4.11.0.0 for those keeping score at home, brings mostly bug fixes and improvements but also brings a Transparent Live Tile to the app. I personally think that transparent Live tiles are one of the things that seperates Windows Phone from a user experience perspective than iOS or Android as it allow you to make your device more personal. OneDrive now is offers this for those who like it which is great to see.

In addition to the new transparent Live tile, the update to OneDrive for Windows Phone includes the somewhat generic bug fixes and performance improvements. While we don’t exactly know what was addressed in this update, it is good to see Microsoft continually improving their apps. For those who are curious, this generic statement isn’t just exclusive to Windows Phone. They used the same language on the Android update earlier today too.
For those who don’t know, OneDrive is a free service that gives you 15GB of cloud storage that you can access from your Windows PC, Tablet or Phone, Android, iOS or Mac devices. If you have your Windows Phone automatically upload your camera roll photos, they give you another 15GB free. You can sign up for OneDrive at this link.
