The ever popular Instagram app for Windows Phone, 6Tag, has received yet another update bringing several new features to users. The Instagram app is the work of developer Rudy Huyn, one of the most prolific in the Windows community and is hands-down superior to the official Instagram app for Windows Phone which has not seen an update in well over a year now. This latest update, version 4.2 for those keeping score at home, is available now in the Windows Phone Store.

Within the 4.2 release there are three main new features. First is the addition of verified badges. Like Twitter, Instagram offers verified badges to celebrities, politicians and others who have been verified by them as being genuine. Now 6Tag shows you those verified badges so you know you are dealing with the real person.
Secondly, there has been a lot of work done to improve the quality of saved copy of upload pictures in 6Tag. Rudy has been working on the overall image quality in the app the last couple of updates so this only seems like an extension of that work. You should see a nice improvement in the quality of your saved photos that you post up to Instagram now.
Finally, 6Tag now supports new lines in comments and captions. Previously you could only type in a block of text in a comment or caption. Now you can add lines to have a bit better structure.
6Tag is the Instagram app I recommend for Windows Phone. It is feature rich, solid in performance and is an app that is constantly being tweaked with new features and improvements. There is no app update gap to be found here peeps.
