For those who are anxious to pick up the Lumia 640 or the Lumia 640XL, you may have a few weeks of waiting if the German, UK and French Microsoft Stores is any indication. The online store has posted the availability of the Lumia 640 for pre-order but delivery is not until mid-April. While this is certainly more than has been posted on the US Microsoft Store, you can assume safely that the wait times will be similar.
The latest Windows Phones from Microsoft were announced last week at MWC and overall have seen some pretty high comments from those who have seen the devices in Barcelona. During the announcement last week, Microsoft did not give much of an indication on when the Lumia 640 or Lumia 640XL would ship but did make it clear that it would be available globally. That global availability in itself is good news as there have been plenty of devices not widely available around the globe in the past.
If the pattern holds, you can probably expect to be able to order your new Lumia next week with an April ship date. Pricing is also a bit of a question but you can probably expect the Lumia 640 to be around $175 and the Lumia 640XL to be around the $249 mark.
