If you have your own Facebook pages or manage one for your company, the app you need to manage them has just been updated. FB Pages Manager for Windows Phone has been updated with several new features to bring it up-to-date with the web based pages manager from Facebook themselves. The new update, version 2.0 for those keeping score at home, brings new enhancements such as being able to see scheduled posts and Events all from your device without having to go to the Facebook Pages website itself (which can be clunky on a Windows Phone). The update impacts both the free version of the app as well as the Pro version. The difference between free and Pro is the adverts within the app, Insights to see how your page is doing and the photo management. The app is also as close a universal app as we have in Windows these days so when you buy the Pro version you also have access to the Windows 8.1 version of the app for free (or vise versa).

The update brings several features that to this point have only been on the Facebook Pages website for management. These include the ability to see and get notification on Page Mentions, to see
events and view your scheduled posts. Also, FB Pages Manager now has the ability to share via the Windows Phone 8.1 sharing function. It is a great update to an already great app and saves you a lot of effort when it comes to managing your Facebook pages as you don’t have to use the web interface to do it on your phone. Personally I’ve found that more than frustrating as I manage my own Facebook page for the site. Make no mistake that unlike many apps, FB Pages Manager is not a web wrapper app. This is a fully developed app that allows you to manage and edit your pages natively.
To get the full advantage of the FB Pages Manager you may want to consider the $1.99 Pro version. It gives you access to some of the deeper features that Facebook offers on pages such as insights and being able to manage your photos on your pages. If you don’t need these and simply want to see messages and notifications, the free version will suit your needs perfectly. Besides, you can always try the free version and if you need the Pro version you can upgrade via an In-App purchase.
